Food Allergy CANpaign: Zane’s Teal Kitchen!

Just a quick morning post about how our community can inspire others.

I had already planned to write a post about Zane for an upcoming Friday Food Allergy CAN Opener, but I want to slip in a quick post now about something that happened to me yesterday.

I had a full day of classes yesterday. It was late, and as I was walking back to my apartment, I was having one of those days. I was tired. I was hungry. And I still had hours of homework ahead of me. I also had plenty of work to do for my website and for the Food Allergy School CANpaign.

As I was walking, I checked my cell and saw Zane’s post. Zane had just received a copy of my book earlier in the day and was eager to share it with others.

“I can’t wait to get my #CANspiration on in the #theLandofCan,” Zane posted. “You guys should meet me and J.J. there!”

When I read that post, I immediately smiled. Suddenly, all the challenges of my day seemed to have a new perspective.

I wrote Land of Not and created The Land of Can to introduce others to what embracing a CAN mindset can do for us who live with food allergies. If you have any doubt about the importance of introducing a CAN mindset to our children, if you have any doubt about what young people who live with food allergies CAN do, check out Zane’s Youtube channel and Instagram posts. Amazing!

Thank you for your post, Zane. It really does mean a lot to me. Oh, and congratulations for being elected Sergeant at Arms for student council. I’m sure you will represent your classmates well.

I’ll be writing more about Zane in an upcoming post! Have a great Wednesday everyone.
