Situation Food Allergy: How much do you tip an excellent server?
Situation Food Allergy. The Excellent Waitress
You’ve just finished an enjoyable meal with friends and family at an area restaurant. The meal was enjoyable not because of the food, though. Truthfully the food was just average. But the service was exceptional! The waitress understood your child’s food allergy from the beginning. She patiently went through the menu items, highlighting safe meals your child could eat. She then assured you the meal would be safe. As an added benefit, she personally brought the cook to the table first to meet your family.
When your family’s bill arrives, you look at the total — $59.12. And now for the moment of truth. Do you tip your customary 15 to 20 percent? Or do you tip more? How much more?
