Pic 'n Play: Kids with food allergies can feel...
Blog Post #109 — Pic 'n Play: Empowering kids with food allergies to live in the Land of Can every single day.
I have a copy of this poster in my apartment. I stare at it each morning and often think, "What would happen if kids everywhere really did adopt this mindset?"
Young people living with food allergies have enough adversity facing them. So let's continue to work together as a caring community to empower our youth to achieve excellence. Everyone has a role.
As a college student who has lived with food allergies my entire life, I am using my voice to help young people living with allergies and their families, not just to survive but to thrive! The mission of my children's book, Land of Not, and my blog, www.thelandofcan.com, is to introduce all young people, especially those living with food allergies, to live in the Land of Can, a place where they feel hopeful, safe, resilient, courageous, certain, assured, positive, confident, sure, free, cool, whole, accepted, decisive, bold, strong, ambitious & upbeat. You want to stop food allergy bullying. Let's start educating and strengthening mindsets.
Someday I hope this poster, along with my book and CAN guides, are in every single elementary school in the nation. Am I dreaming? Maybe. But I know those kids deserve it. I know they need it. And I know it could make them soar. And that is enough motivation to keep me going every single day.
