Food Allergy Can Opener: Tamara Hubbard
Blog Post #118 — When I read Tamara Hubbard's inspiring article about how parents can successfully navigate food allergies, which was posted on FAACT's website, I immediately forwarded it to my own parents.
My mom's response after reading it: "Yes! Tamara Hubbard is a Can Opener!"
Tamara's article, "Navigating the Emotional Seas of Food Allergies: One Parent's Journey Towards Resilience," helps parents rise above the mutiny of negative emotions of food allergies by providing practical, resilience-focused tips. Using her own family's journey, she recounts the importance of changing the internal fear-based food allergy narratives to narratives of resilience, first for herself and then for her son, who is allergic to peanuts.
When I read her words, I thought I was reading something my own mother would write. Tamara's asset-based philosophy is at the very core of where all families should strive to be. By providing authentic, hopeful & empowering advice, Tamara is helping families with food allergies live a life a Can! She is a true CAN Opener.
