Can Openers: Dads!
Blog Post #111 — Fathers are important. We know that. But when you are a boy growing up with a food allergy, a father's role can be even more important. Through the eyes of an impressionable boy, especially as that boy enters his teen years, males have the unique opportunity to be able to reinforce that even though you may have a food allergy and must be cautious, you can still be tough & cool & one of the guys.
I've been blessed with having incredible male role models in my life. My Father. My Grandfathers. My Godfather. My late Great-Grandfathers. And a host of male relatives and family friends. Each one has played an important role in my development. On this Father's Day weekend, I say "Thank You" for being my CAN Openers.
